Cleveland, Ohio Elder Law Attorneys > Meet Our Team

Our Philosophy

Clients are best served by the prevention of legal problems through careful and thorough advice given prior to their entering into transactions and business arrangements.

When a legal problem does arise, clients will be assisted in finding the most practical and cost-effective solution, which may or may not include litigation.

Our Team

Paul Stano | Kathy Weber | Judy Pelgar | Heidi Anthony

Paul J. Stano, Esq.

Paul J. Stano “I’ve grown up in this area, and my purpose is to help the hard working people of my community keep what they’ve worked so hard to earn.”

Paul is a second-generation advocate for Ohio seniors. If his name sounds familiar, it’s because he is the son of Jerome P. Stano, an Ohio state senator, who was Chairman of the Nursing Home Commission as well as a co-sponsor of the Homestead Exemption Act. Over the past two decades, Paul has helped older Americans and their families design Estate and Life Care Plans that assure that loved ones are taken care of while saving as much of their hard-earned money as possible. Paul has taken a great deal of time and effort to pull together a team of people who share his passion for helping seniors. Each member of Paul's team has a special talent or expertise that helps clients accomplish their goals.

Kathy Weber

Kathy Weber “I love helping people. When they call and come into the office, I feel like I’m helping my own friends and family, and I want them to feel that way too.”

When you call Paul Stano’s Ohio Elder Law office, chances are Kathy Weber will be the first person you talk to. Kathy has been working with Paul for over 17 years as his assistant. Her primary responsibility is to make your experience warm and friendly. Kathy loves talking to each client and she will ask you a few questions so that she can make sure that you speak with the person on our team that can help you the most.

Judy Pelgar

Judy Pelgar “I lost my mom to Alzheimer’s a few years ago, and when I heard that Paul needed my help, I jumped at the chance to help other families who are feeling overwhelmed with complex emotional, physical and financial issues."

Judy is the Director of Education and Outreach for Stano Law. She has over 20 years experience as client service coordinator in Elder Law and Ohio Medicaid planning. She is responsible for setting up workshops in the community to educate seniors on their options for long-term care. Her goal is to make sure that people know about the two main government programs to assist in payment of long-term care costs: Veterans' Administration-Aid and Attendance and Ohio Medicaid whether you're in a nursing home, assisted living facility or at home.

Heidi Anthony

Heidi Anthony “Pulling together all the documents can seem overwhelming, but I love it, and I get great joy from working with people and hearing them say “That was easy.”

One of the reasons Paul’s Ohio Life Care Plans move through the system so quickly is because he makes sure that all the information is there and presented to case workers at the county in tip-top shape. And it’s Heidi’s job to make sure that the documentation is accurate and complete. Heidi has been a legal assistant in larger law firms for over 15 years.  That means that she’s a stickler for details. That’s a good thing for our clients because she’s the one that makes collecting all the information that Paul needs so easy. Heidi will hold your hand through the process, answer any questions that you have and act as your personal helper to make sure it’s done on time and done right.
